When I was eight years old, I had high hopes of one day having a career as a flourishing artist. I would spend hours drawing, coloring, and painting hoping to improve my skills. Unfortunately, like most artists, my dreams were eventually shattered by the opinions of others who were "kind enough" to let me know that artists don't make any money.

"Why don't you just go to nursing school and just worry about art in your free time?"

"Art school is a waste of money. You aren't guaranteed a job and you'll be in crazy debt."

Sadly, I succumbed to the fear of being broke my whole life and attended nursing school. To make a long story short, I ended up hating nursing and switched to business during my last years of school. What was interesting about my shiny new business degree is that I had a great deal of difficulty finding a job with it.

So through trial and error, I decided to buckle down and find a way to sell my paintings and sketches. To my surprise, people actually wanted to give me money for my works of art. I haven't made nearly enough to make it a full-time job, but my art skill brings in extra money throughout the year for me.

I've compiled a list of crucial things you must do if you want to make that first art sale. Don't give up or think selling art is for a select few. Put that creative brain to work, and in no time you'll have the coveted ability to bring in income from your craft.

Step 1: Put Your Work Out There

I know this seems obvious, but so many creatives are perfectionists, and can't seem to part ways with their work until it's 100% perfect. One of the most of helpful things I've learned is to put myself out there even if I don't feel qualified.

You can't just post 1 or 2 pictures and expect to call that a portfolio. Gather your best sketches, works in progress, and artworks and upload them to Instagram, Facebook, or an artist website. People like to see bodies of work.

Eventually, people will be interested in your work and can't wait for you to post your latest sketch or painting.

Step 2: Social Media

It's very unlikely, in this day and age, that you don't have some form of a social media account. I made my first sales by posting a picture to Facebook of a watercolor painting. I had absolutely no intention of selling it. Actually, I was still in the phase of putting myself out there. I was also pretty discouraged at this point because I had posted a lot of art and received little likes or feedback. Then one day, I posted a watercolor painting, and someone inboxed me. "Tina, how much are you selling that painting for? I HAVE to have it."

My first instinct was to say, "Are you crazy? It's even that good." But thankfully, I kept my mouth shut and took the money. If you continue to post your art, eventually there will be a customer who resonates with that piece and ultimately will exchange their money for it.

Step 3: Broaden Your Horizons

When I wasn't making the sales I hoped for with my paintings, I decided to learn a new skill that incorporated my love of visual art: Web Design. Web design was incredibly difficult for me at first because I came in with absolutely no knowledge. I never had great technical skills growing up, so I tended to shy away from all things related to the computer. Thankfully, I ignored my inner critic and learned web design and computer programming. Both are skills I have grown to love. I immediately realized how in demand a skill like this was. Subsequently, the money flowed in after that.

Maybe web design isn't for you, but this is just one example. You can also make your artwork available in prints, t-shirts, notebooks... etc. You can go the graphic design route and make artwork for groups or businesses. One of the best ways to broaden your horizons is to turn your knowledge into teaching. Teaching not only gives you credibility in your field, but increases your income because not only do you make money from your classes or books, but this gives your own art exposure and will increase sales in that as well.

Whatever path you choose, the point is not to let a lack of sales discourage you from producing amazing art. Find alternative routes to get your artwork in front of people or broaden your skill set. It's not always easy, but it's totally worth it to be able to make money from doing something you love.

Step 4: Be Consistent

Don't post a picture of your art, disappear for two months, and expect customers to start pounding down your door. If you want to make sales you have to be consistent. There's only a limited amount of time you have on a newsfeed before your content is lost in the shuffle and replaced by newer stuff. So even if it feels repetitive in your mind, post the same thing several times over the course of a few days.

I like to think of this as a reminder for people. In fact, many have told me, "Oh, I'm so glad you posted that again, I would have forgotten if I didn't see that on the newsfeed again."

Don't worry about being pushy or over the top. Just do friendly reminder from time to time and this puts what you have to say in the back of people's minds.

You need to identify where your idea client is and then show up there. That will help you know which networks to include in your social media marketing plan.

The platform is basically taking these funnel pages and advertising them by email or around social media. You basically take the funnel pages and create Facebook advertisements. Facebook ads can to get traffic, but it can be expensive, because it does not always work.

The good about his program, he does teach you how to build funnel pages. However, he does not teach how to build a website. His promise is about creating a website that will help you make money fast. Reality here is, he just teaches you how to build a sales funnel.

Also, good news is you do learn how to build a sales funnel in 5 minutes from his webinar. But it won't earn you thousands of dollars online.

Sales funnels are created by using a program called click funnels. To put his platform in simple words, you make a whole bunch of different funnels and add affiliate links. This then allows you to earn money once people click on whatever you are selling.

Adam Wenig promises to teach you how to earn money online by creating simple websites that pay $1,000 - $5,000 a month. This is not true.

The bad, Adam claims to teach you how to build profitable websites. However, he only teaches you how to build sales funnels, period!

The first thing you learn is how to create sales funnels using a program called click funnels. Once the sales funnel page is created, Adam then teaches you how to take these sales funnel pages and create ads on Facebook and Instagram.

Facebook ads can cost thousands of dollars and result in no profit. This is because it doesn't always work and many people are new to Facebook ads, so there is no promise.

The Sales Funnel Platform

The sales funnel pages will also consist of content and videos regarding Global Dream Builder's system. The videos might be a testimonial of how well the system works and how it can earn you lots of money.

After the pages are all set up, you will add affiliate links to all your funnels that will track back to Adam Wenig's Global Dream Builders page. Ask yourself, why are you creating all these sales funnel pages that lead back to Adam's system???

To put this in one simple sentence folks, you are Adam's advertiser. You are promoting the stuff for him, because you are the one who is making all the ads and talking. This is not a way to build your own business folks!

To sum everything up, you are selling the program and lying to others that they can get the same results and earn money fast. This is something I would personally not want to participate in.

Everything here is misleading information. Adam says it is a website and in reality it is just a bunch of sales funnels.

Once you start using the click funnels, it will cost money. This will of course result in a commission for Adam when you sign up. There is nothing wrong with this process. It is affiliate marketing, but it should not be done this way.

I will admit when I first saw Adam's advertisement, I thought this was going to be a new way to earn money online, but it is not. This is really risky. A person could lose lots of money advertising around social media, especially if he or she is new to Facebook ads and Instagram ads.

I will admit, when I first saw Adam's advertisement I thought this was going to be a new way to earn money online, but it isn't. GDB does have some success, but honestly it is not promised.

In order to get traffic, you need keyword research. Therefore all you need is proper training. There are many programs online that claim you will make thousands if you join them. I've seen many programs like GDB that sell nothing, but too many promises.

What I recommend you do is research for a company that has support 24/7 and actually does have their community of people help you. You should also find a company that offers training for keyword research, so you learn how to get your website ranked in Google organically. What I mean by organically, is so you do not have to pay Google to be found on the first page. Meaning people can find your website for free.

Also you should look for a company that has videos to show you how to create your own website, so you can learn to build your own business independently. Everything should be taught step-by step.

Therefore, you want to look for a mentoring program that has training to help you find your niche and build a website focused on that niche. Everything I said here should help you find a mentoring program that is right for you.

Tip #5 - Pull the plug if the need arises - If your campaign has too high of a CPC to make any money, then you should not hesitate to end the campaign. You should create a new campaign and see how that one does. It's good to evaluate your campaigns on an ongoing basis.

Blogging is a long, tiring and self-motivational job. There is no one to push you or boss you around. It is a self-job and you are dedicated to motivating yourself all the time. However, when you don't get the desirable amount of likes on your posts and it starts happening way too often, you eventually lose your energy to work. This happened to me too.

I have been writing for several people and it started to annoy me. I did so for 3 years and then it struck me; if I had invested that much time, in writing for my very own blog, I would have been somewhere else. You are allowed to dream, aren't you? This is why I eventually began the journey. BUT, it was easy to lose hope because I was not getting a lot of likes on my Instagram blog. If people don't view my Instagram, they won't be directed to what I write too (I was helplessly falling in a tunnel of hopelessness). This is when I decided to do some proper research on Instagram blogging as it is a very fast growing platform for different types of bloggers at the moment. During my personal research, I came across an article which was entitled "Best Times to post on Instagram." And this is where a great change occurred.

IS IT TRUE?

Okay so first of all, I wanted to know whether it was true or not. I don't rely or believe on things right away, thus I experimented.

On Friday, I posted on my own leisure time, when I felt right to do so. I was yet again, enraged! My post did not get the desired likes and mostly my followers were the one to show some love to it. Where did the audience go?

Well, on Saturday, I posted on perfect Instagram time and guess what? The change was quite evident. Where my Friday post hardly reached 20 likes, the Saturday one went up to 50. Although this might not seem much but for a beginner, it is a great motivational factor. So you see, it is really true.

PERFECT TIMINGS TO POST ON INSTAGRAM:

It took me almost 2-3 days to decipher the best timings. Almost every other post had different timings. However, I had to collect the ones which had similar timings on some days. Once I had gone through almost 5-6 pages of Google, reading through the stats, I found that the following timings were the most common in most of the articles that I read. So here are the best times to post on Instagram. I hope they work just as great for you, as they did for me too!

MONDAY: 7 pm and 10 pm

TUESDAY: 3 am and 10 pm

WEDNESDAY: 5 pm

THURSDAY: 7 am and 11 pm

FRIDAY: 1 am and 8 pm

SATURDAY: 12 am and 2 am

SUNDAY: 5 pm

Further common stats showed that the highest concentration of Instagram audience is on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The least attention is usually on Mondays because it is the first day after weekend and people are usually busy settling themselves for the remaining week or completing some pending work. Just don't begin the blogging journey because you want instant money (lots of it) because this is a huge misconception. It takes years until your blog starts returning to you in the right way!

If someone clicks on an add while on a Buzz screen, then the logic states that their friends might also like similar ads, articles, and websites. This adds a powerhouse punch to pay per click advertising. Much like harnessing the power of Facebook, PPC advertisers now have new avenues opened before them.
