One of the earliest off page SEO methods.

Social Bookmarking is one of the earliest off page SEO methods in our text books. Well simply like any other technique, there are approaches to use Social bookmarking niche sites as well, and there are techniques to use it proficiently. If you only use it, you'll get benefits, while applying it effectively will get you remarkable results. Let's begin from the fundamentals.

What is Social Bookmarking?

Social Bookmarking is the exact as regular webpage bookmarking, think about it as the cloud variation of bookmarking. Once you bookmark web pages on your web browser, it is typical bookmarking, however, when you do the equal over a Web-based page, it is social bookmarking. It actually wasn't created as a Back Linking or SEO Strategy. Rather it was merely a greater method for people to keep the links they prefer so that they may access it later on. It's really like the Yellow pages of links, yet with time people started to understand that back links are one of the generally essential SEO elements, and bookmarking sites should get you back links. So from listing web links, it started to be a SEO approach. People began listing sites not since they desired to store it, but just because they desired to have a hyperlink from that website to their websites to increase their ratings.

Gains of Social Bookmarking.

Now you understand what Social Bookmarking is, nonetheless why is it significant? It's prevalent understanding they'll get you back links, nevertheless what kind of back links, why are they unique?

Direct Traffic.

Persons visit social bookmarking sites for a number of motives, one of them certainly is bookmarking their personal websites, the additional is to checkout other web pages. So that's a lot of direct website traffic you're looking at.

Do-follow web links.

The best social bookmarking sites from the beginning of days have provided dofollow back links, it's one of the various causes why they're so well-known.

Easy links.

Even if the links are nofollow on several social bookmarking sites, what is important is that you obtain those web links quickly, there's no mailing, guest publishing or trouble. You simply have to sign up, which will might be non-obligatory in some instances, and list your hyper-links. Search Engine robots crawl social bookmarking sites regularly as well, indicating your links might get listed the moment a bot crawls it.

Employing Social Bookmarking for SEO Successfully.

Therefore social bookmarking is useful, let's make it rewarding. Since linking carried out wrong can harm your projects fairly bad.

Shift Anchor Text.

The one error almost everybody makes while producing any kind of web links is using the exact anchor text repeatedly again. Very well it may well have worked well half a decade back, these days? Not really much. Anchor text variation is one of the fundamental and just about all crucial actions you can take whilst building links for your site. Here's a live case in point showing what I indicate:

Main Keyword: Best Android App.

First Anchor text: Best Android App.

Second Anchor text: Brandable Web links, Website name.

Third Anchor Text: Amazing Android apps.

Fourth Anchor Text: Read more.

And so forth.

Proceed Slow.

The moment you 1st land on a Social Bookmarking web page, you experience like striked the goldmine. A system where you can certainly lay off as many links back to you as you prefer and there's no one to prevent you. Good there is, and the devil will go by the company name of Google. It won't quit you from establishing links, it only has its very own ways of displaying discontentment. So my recommendation is, go slow. Do not produce more than 2 links/day for one web page from one Social Bookmarking site on a limit.

Do Follow Links.

This one goes with no saying, if you're attempting to complete some link juice, you'll require a dofollow over a nofollow virtually any day of the year. That's specifically what you've got to do whilst bookmarking your internet site. Try to use websites online which provide dofollow links, yet also ensure that you aren't solely pursuing dofollows and ignoring the nofollows, since well this matters as link variety as good.

Exact Description and Profile Data.

Various times, when generating a profile or composing a description, you are likely to copy paste the equal data over and over again. And then you're just like, Google won't go through the entire article, merely the anchor texts. Well that's so erroneous, Google does pay interest to the encircling keywords of virtually any anchor text as perfectly. So using the exact data over and over obviously transmits a duplicate flag which in turn isn't precisely healthy for your web links. So try to use as many new data as possible with every link. Even though fresh data doesn't suggest evolving your registered identity, if you're producing links as Mr. X, you can maintain using the corresponding name over and over again, it in fact works toward establishing authority.

Be Legit.

When ever you open an account on a Social bookmarking webpage, most of the times you simply sign up, put your web links and by no means go back again. Perfectly, the basic idea ought to be to build a Real profile generally there, make it look much like you aren't there for the web links but for actually using the framework. Try to socialize with additional bookmarks, pages, and persons on the website, if they've such a community, do not place links every single day and so on.

Be Specific.

Just about all Social bookmarking sites enable you to decide upon category for your bookmarks once you're setting up them. The greatest thing you can do is, go for a category as particular and narrow to your internet site as feasible. It's not accurately a SEO element, but it nonetheless counts. And anyways, all those other groups which may possibly seem like having millions of site visitors will be over crowded in any case.

Don't be a Script Kiddie.

On Fiverr, you can easily, very easily discover that some folks can build 10000 social bookmarks for you for $5 gigs. Very well, don't go for them. Nor should you go for all those conveniently available, inexpensive automated link building methods. In fact, you shouldn't go for any kind of tool doesn't matter how high quality it is for link building. Not really for social bookmarking, not for web 2.0s essentially not for any sort of type of link building. Do it by hand and your site would say thanks to you permanently.

How many times you heard something like this?? I bet every time. If you are just starting or if you are in the middle on your way to success you are familiar with phrases like this, especially if you DO NOT understand this simple fact - making money online is the same like any other business outside the internet.

I don't know about you but let me tell a simple story about me. I was NOT completely a newbie 3 years ago when I realized that my life will be better if I work online.

Was some computer background in my past, I use computer for simple automation like turning on a light or music device or even start weeding a garden place. I was and I continue to addicted to watch out for everything that is new, just like watching a new movie, only on my laptop!

Then was a 5 year period in my life when I administered some big old buildings in Bucharest. There was very good communication between the owner and I in order to be able to handle all renovations and rent collections and team work, if you can imagine a 40 million euros enterprise. Just for renovations and to be able to choose the appropriate workers and materials it was necessarily to have good knowledge about searcheology on the internet I told you about in one of the past articles.

Then I was in Germany with the car and house business. Far away from my family with my laptop and my car - one mobile office. I needed to know how to communicate and of course to know how to SEARCH and how to find good information on the internet.

But every step done in the past, was a way to learn something new about internet.

Let me tell you another example about my 5 year old son - Alex. We are borne on the same day February 14...I was happy about this because like father and son we will be very close to each other, the same way to look at things, the same way to learn and so on...

Well, NO.

I tried to teach him my WAY, but even though he learned a lot... he found HIS OWN WAY and refused to treat my way of doing things like copy/paste. He continues to improve every step and always says...come daddy have to show you something new...

Think about this...

Now imagine somebody tells you - WHY BOTHER LEARNING EVERYTHING?? Imagine you have no clue what it is about and feel like he's speaking a foreign language... even if he tells you Santa is blue - you will believe and will follow him until you understand AGAIN and AGAIN the truth.

What is the truth???

The true is so simple that I am embarrassed to tell you. First, they will speculate about your desire to make things easier, your natural way for shortcuts and secondly they will leave you ALONE.

Of course, after you bought some nice, colorful and attractive "work"

The TRUE is - what works for me may not possibly work for you.

The TRUE is - what I like, use and teach you to do may very well not be your own way and this is bad for you because if don't like your work, then your success will be far away from you.

The TRUTH is - even if you like what I've taught you to do, still will be no success for you until you've BRANDED your way - NOT COPIED my way...

The TRUTH is - what is working today will not work tomorrow because of the extraordinary dynamic way of the development of the internet.

And like always the truth is somewhere in the middle of our understanding. When and if somebody will show you a WAY to really like it - a step by step way, from a man or a organization and that man or organization is transparent enough for you to CHECK and see his/their success, well, then STILL you need to BOTHER LEARNING... to continue improving your learning curve.

And finally, the true conditions to realize this are here, now, in 2011 and ONLY in one place.

On SOCIAL networking sites. Real people with real desires to teach you, to have amazing partners, to know, like and do business with you.

And yes, why bother learning everything??? So that maybe all you need is to become social and feel the social way.

In my last three articles, I talked about my ups and downs in affiliate marketing, the two sides of that business model and why giving value to people is more important than anything else - including self-belief in your business success. Here, I am going to explain the 6 different models of internet marketing which is quite general by its definition.

1. Affiliate Marketing

The first model is by far the most basic and yet essential for all newbies to get started. That is by promoting other people's products and services - be it digital or physical - and get paid in return. There are many ways you can go about doing so but that is another topic I will cover for the day.

2. E-Commerce

The second model is e-commerce.

While it may seem similar to promoting physical products as affiliate at first glance, it is not.

What this essentially means is that instead of having a physical store which can cost you tens of thousands in rent, staff and inventory costs, you can have a virtual one in the form of an e-commerce website instead.

In contrary to the traditional model, you do not need to have huge inventory at home.

You just need to have good connections of reliable suppliers who are willing to deliver the products for you to your customers while making sure they are in great condition and exactly what your customers required upon placing orders.

The only con is that building an e-commerce store is very challenging. Especially for a beginner who does not know anything about web design.

Even if you hired a freelancer, you may have to pay hundreds and even thousands of dollars because of the perceived value as in your store can earn you much more than what you invest initially in the long run though you do not get to make that money immediately.

3. Local Business Consulting

If you are already proficient in building websites and getting them ranked on top of Google, you can be a local business consultant to offline business owners whether they are running companies, cafes or shops.

If you are able to get customers throughout other online strategies as well, that will be even better.

However, I do not recommend this to newbies as most business owners are very selective in who to hire the same way as who they should employ in job interviews.

4. Freelancing

You can also do freelance work for internet marketers if you are good in building websites, writing content like articles, blog posts, e-books and short reports, designing banners, e-covers and graphics.

But do not expect to get high pay unless you are an experience programmer and software developer.

You may head down to sites like Elance, Fiverr and Guru to offer your services.

5. Mobile Apps

This is another profession you may consider if you like to learn and earn from designing mobile apps for people.

Given the fact that iPhones are very popular these days and people tend to surf web through those to laptops and desktops, this is another model you should consider.

6. Creating And Selling Your Own Information Products

I did cover this topic briefly in my article on the Two Sides Of Affiliate Marketing Coin.

What this means is you write your e-books and design your own video tutorials teaching people on how to do certain things based on your expertise and experience.

It does not have to be just internet marketing.

It can be other things like smart business investing, wise financial management, personal development and health-related topics.

Or even hobbies based on your personal passion as well as that of others.

Imagine what banks looked like before 1970. Long queues and particularly long waiting period for just about any transaction was normal. People where customers of a branch and not really a parent bank. All transactions could be performed at your particular branch only. Any entry only reflected after more than 24 hours as information went to data centers in batches at the end of the working day. However, over the next 40 years most banks chose to create a Centralized Online Real-time Exchange or Environment (CORE) to manage their operations, thus giving rise to Core Banking. In India alone, the number of public sector bank branches with core banking implementation went from 79.4% in March 2009 to 90% in March 2010. All over the world, the numbers are closing in on cent per cent.

According to US-based research and advisory firm Gartner, the core banking system (CBS) is basically a back-end system that performs banking transactions on a daily basis and updates accounts and financial records. It is essentially a bank's nervous system that if affected can change the bank's operations drastically. CBS is a common point of connection for the entire gamut of products and services that banks today provide under one umbrella.

Centralized data centers have been formed and all banking applications can be accessed here. Data of any bank as a whole is stored in a central server that branches, regional offices and head office can lay hands on. All types of banking operations like recording all types of transactions, loan and mortgages as well as interest calculations, deposits, money transfer, payment balance, customer information and such other operations have become fully automated using a core banking solution. Such a solution makes use of the internet or other forms of connectivity to automate the operations with an appropriate software. This core banking software is then applied across all the branches so bringing them all on a single platform.

A solution usually enterprises of:

• Internet, mobile, tab banking

Advantages

Among the myriad of advantages that a CBS has, the most important is that it has enabled banks to strengthen their relationship with customers. Concepts of customer satisfaction, retention, customized and tailor plans, customer convenience and others were introduced in the financial industry, thanks to core banking.

Customers today have a plethora of channels through which they can contact their respective banks. It could be through their PCs via the internet, on their smart phones, tabs or through mobile kiosks. A good core banking software integrates all these channels and provides a seamless transaction experience for both the bank and the customer.

Since all processes become automated, another major advantage of a good modern core banking solution is that it reduces chances of human errors and fraud. This in turn increases employee efficiency and then suddenly boosts business opportunities. All the resources are aptly utilized because minimizing chance of waste as well.

Automation, more often than not, always helps companies save a lot of money and time. Online banking decrees human footfalls in bank promises which means that infrastructure costs go down drastically. Similarly, operational and support expenses also go down. Maintaining legacy systems is also a pricy affair. Core banking partnerships down IT maintenance costs by moving to shared services platforms.

The YouTube method that you can use to get traffic to your website is to make videos for the popular sharing website YouTube. YouTube sees around 1 billion users every single month, so posting a video on YouTube almost guarantees that it will be seen as long as you use the right keywords.

In this article, we'll explore the process of making a video - and making it professional enough to attract traffic to your site - as well as the process of choosing keywords and getting it published on YouTube.

Step One: Making the Video

The first thing you're going to have to do is make the video. What kind of video should you make? You can make whatever kind of video you want but keep in mind that your goal is to get people to watch the entire thing and want to know more afterwards. You want them to read the description and look for a link and then leave the YouTube site to come to your own website.

So, this could be a how-to video. These types of videos are quite popular on YouTube and they are ready made to send traffic to your website because if you give them almost all of the information that they need with the video and then promise them the rest if they go to your website, this will drive traffic.

You don't want to make a video to simply promote your business because people aren't going to want to watch it in the first place, nor are they going to want to come to your website afterward. But if you can make a funny or awesome video that evokes emotion, and features your business as part of it, then you'll be able to get YouTube views and traffic to your website as well as shares.

If you're going to stick to the methods of getting traffic without any money spent, you're going to have to create the video yourself. However, there are websites out there like Fiverr that will allow you to outsource video production very inexpensively. If you have to go DIY, making a video isn't too difficult to do on your own anyway and you might find that you have a talent at it.

Step Two: Getting Your Keywords

The next step we are going to take will be getting the keywords that you will use in the title and tag sections of your YouTube video.

Your first task is to determine whether anyone is actually searching for the keywords that you've chosen. Obviously, with keywords like 'money' or 'investing' you don't have to look and see if anyone is searching; you know that millions of people are using the search terms. But there is no way that you can compete for these search terms on YouTube without many years of hard work so what you're looking for our search terms that only get a few searches (but still get some) and that are much easier to compete for on YouTube.

You want to use the AdWords Keyword Planner (https://adwords.google.com/KeywordPlanner) because it is the number one tool for finding out what kind of usage a search term actually gets. You can just type in your search terms and see the estimated monthly traffic that a search term gets to make your decision based upon that. Now, that isn't going to be the search traffic that that term gets on YouTube, but it will give you an idea as to what is popular when it comes to searching and what is not.

Go For Low-Hanging Fruit

One trick is to go for "low-hanging fruit". This means intentionally going for keywords for your videos to get a very specific group of people to take action. Typically the keywords are longer tail.

The advantage of going for low-hanging fruit is that you'll capture a more targeted audience and get ranked on YouTube easier. If you were to go for a broader term such as "weight loss", it would be near impossible to rank these days.

You won't get as many people searching for longer tail keywords, but at least you'll gain higher quality viewers.

This is where you can "rinse and repeat" this method.

Step Three: Publishing the Video

Finally, your last step would be publishing the video. There are many different ways that you can do this and one of the easiest is to publish it directly from your video editing program.

Of course, instead you could just publish it directly on YouTube. You'll need to have exported it from your video editing program or uploaded it from your camera if you didn't do any editing, and it will need to fit certain specifications like having the right file format, following YouTube's size guidelines and other considerations.

You can find out exactly what YouTube requires when you upload a video by going to your YouTube page and clicking 'Upload'. Once you have your video uploaded, you can create the title and set your tags. Then, you can go ahead and publish it. It will be on YouTube and driving traffic to your website shortly.

While algorithm updates by search engines have changed the SEO landscape considerably over the years, there have been a few things that have remained constant. One of these is the demand of search engines for unique and fresh content. Google and various other search engines give preference to websites that are creative with their content and take advantage of various content marketing strategies including guest blogging. This is an SEO technique, which involves writing and publishing a blog post on a third party website for promoting your brand subtly. How is this practice helpful?

In a nutshell, guest blogging is able to expose your brand to your relevant target audience and this can be immensely useful in generating brand awareness. These days, it is playing a very important role in helping businesses gain credibility and unearth networking opportunities. However, it is essential for businesses to choose the third party website or blog carefully when they want to take advantage of guest blogging. The blog you opt for should be focused on your industry and niche and have a good number of visitors. It should also have engaging content already for drawing in considerable traffic.

If a business chooses the right platform for guest blogging, it will be able to enjoy the follow SEO benefits:

Improved social growth and visibility

Not only do they get you links, but social media profiles are also a great way in boosting your online presence and getting more visibility. If anyone visits the blog and your post engages them, it is a given that they will share it with others in their circle through social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and more. This will automatically improve social growth and drive traffic to your website thereby strengthening your authority and having a positive impact on your search engine rankings. Moreover, all blogs have a comment section, which could provide businesses with excellent networking opportunities.

Greater relevant traffic

Most of the people who read your guest post and then click on the link provided are those who are most likely to be genuinely interested in what you have to offer as opposed to a general visitor. Therefore, it is vital for you to ensure that your post is unique and engaging enough for the visitors to get them to click the link provided.

Increased brand awareness and exposure

Another great benefit of guest blogging is that it can give you greater exposure and promote brand awareness. The more the subscribers of the blog where you have posted, the greater the number of people who come across your brand and eventually end up at your website through the link provided.

Boost your authority

Last, but not the least, guest blogging is helpful in building domain name and search engine authority, especially for a new website. When your website has backlinks to popular and respected websites, search engines will automatically consider it relevant and useful, prompting them to give it good rankings, which can boost its authority.

Recently, in the last few years there has been a significant increase in the purchase of professional micro jobs services online from websites offering these services. These new websites offer a wide range of consulting activities, such as SEO, graphics, back link services, video testimonials, personal assisting, eBooks and many other micro jobs.

While companies are used to paying high fees for these type of services in the past, this growing trend towards outsourcing micro jobs can put the company or person in need of such services directly in contact with the person talented to complete the task at hand. You are basically by passing their employers and going directly to the person with the talent, thus lowering prices by eliminating the big middle man, the employer. You still have to deal, with the little middle man, the gig websites themselves. But even with their 20% fee that most of them charge. the savings are huge when compared to the old way of purchasing such micro services.

Fiverr is the giant in the micro jobs industry and allows users to buy and sell gigs for five dollars. While they are the largest one shouldn't count the competition out. While these new sites are significantly smaller, they bring different things to the table like allowing users to buy or sell micro jobs for more then five dollars. But this can also be detrimental to the seller, gigs not priced according to market competition will just sit there gathering dust. Freelancers who sell on these sites have to make sure when posting a micro job at a higher price point that you check out the competition on a few micro job sites to ensure that the job you posted for $20.00 cant be found on on another for $5.00 bucks. If this happens you will not make any sales so checking out the competition is imperative.

Remember this rule of thumb, if you price higher then five dollars, make sure you are adding value that can not be found on other sites and make sure you point out the value in your micro job posting. Boast about it, don't be shy!

Food for thought, posting your jobs on sites like these is not enough and there is no guarantee of success when a new comer. You are competing with sellers who have many good ratings which means people trust them. To overcome this you would then need to promote your postings. This is a very important step that most people forget to implement. You can start advertising on forums, social networks and even on pay per click search engines. Many have had success with pay per click by driving targeted traffic to you micro jobs postings. Try focusing on long tail keywords which convert better.

There are some making over $500 a day. So post your jobs, have fun and make some money too. Just remember, one site is not enough, most successful freelancers sellers post across 5 to 10 websites. The rule of thumb is the more the merrier. And don't forget to make yourself stand out.

No matter how successful you were in your music career last year, this year could be better. Then again, if you are unwilling to change with the tide, it could end your career completely. Here are 8 steps to make sure your music career develops into the most successful business venture it can be.

Write Down Your Goals

At the beginning of each year, you should write down realistic, attainable goals for the next twelve months. Break your long term goals down into short-term goals so that you can monitor your progress, and reward yourself every now and then.

Keep that list of goals in front of you every single day. What you do then is work out a plan of how you will achieve each of goal. By having an actionable plan that you can look at every day, will reinforce the need to complete a certain number of things per day. You may also come up with additional ideas as you go along. By the end of the year, you will be amazed at just how much you did accomplish from your list.

Learn How to Make a Strong Marketing Plan for Your Music

Your music is a product, so you better have a strong marketing plan to get the word out about it. This is especially true if you're an unsigned artist, and still need to do a lot of your music promotion yourself. It's a lot more than recording a great sounding album, commissioning artwork for it and spending tons of time on the packaging. These days, only the most die-hard fans even buy CD's. You should be spending your marketing money on promoting the music itself. In the long run, your money does a lot more work for you that way.

Start Gigging

Playing shows is one of the best ways to promote your music. Not only is live music everywhere, but once you've established enough, you get paid to play, rather than the other way around. It also offers a great venue to sell CD's and other merchandise. You can not really beat live shows, no matter how big or small they are, because they offer some of the best word of mouth you can get. They are also a great way to get contacts within the industry, as people scouting for talent scour even the most out-of-the-way places to find the next big thing.

Make Your Own Music Website

Having your own website is extremely affordable. After purchasing a domain name, hosting can even be free outside, of paying for the domain every year. Make sure that you have strong knowledge of online marketing or hire someone who does. Your website becomes the hub of all of your music marketing efforts and from there, visitors can branch out and see everything that you do. It can be one of your greatest assets and can make even unsigned musicians a lot of money through the exposure.

Get Your Music Promoted on Blogs

Bloggers are happy to promote good musicians and they are one of the easiest ways to get song promotion. They often only require a bit of your time for an interview, as people want to know the artist behind the music. By taking the time to interview, the blogger can gain a better respect for who you are and provide valuable information to people who are looking for new artists in your genre. Bloggers get paid by their own advertisers and by referring their visitors to your music. The social media coverage that bloggers offer is also fairly basic and can get you a lot of new followers.

Understand That Your Music is a Business

Like any industry, music is a business. This means you have to make money to get anywhere. Whenever you make a profit from your music, it's smart to reinvest that money. You can put some into marketing and advertising, some into improved equipment, and some into getting to play better venues.

Streaming is Where the Money Is Now

With album sales going by the wayside, streaming music is the area to focus on. While it does not look as glamorous as record sales, the long-term profit margins are actually significantly higher. People who like your music and listen to it all the time will actually make you a lot more money than they would have by simply buying an album or their favorite tracks. It also means that the tracks that are not as widely marked are just as accessible as the hits, meaning that people will be a lot more likely to check out your whole catalog, meaning you can make a lot more money.

Learn How to Adapt and Grow with The Industry

Every industry is always growing and evolving, and keeping up with those changes is extremely necessary to stay successful. This does not mean buying into every new trend that comes along. But if you can find a way to take advantage of new technology or other new advances, while staying within your budget, and making a profit.

Faced with starting an internet business, many new recruits are very likely to ask the question, "Where do I begin?" Quite a few of the most successful internet marketers began their venture into the business through Affiliate Marketing and this is a very good place for anyone to start. The basis of an affiliate marketing business is that merchants with great products but no expertise in marketing make their products available to people with marketing skills to sell their products for them. In exchange they pay the marketers a commission on the sales, usually a very generous commission.

When the affiliate directs a potential customer to the merchant's website he has done his part of the process. It is then down to the sales page of the merchant to convert that visitor into a customer. Each sale that results from the affiliate's promotion brings with it an agreed percentage of the sale price. From a new internet marketer's point of view this is an excellent way to earn as all the technical side of things has been done by the merchant who sets up the sales website and handles the actual transaction. So, let's look at how to start an affiliate marketing business.

Here are a few affiliate marketing tips to help you launch your business. If you wish to develop your business around affiliate marketing, the first thing is to identify a niche. This is a particularly crucial part of your affiliate marketing start-up. If you explore ClickBank or Amazon, in fact, any online company which offers affiliate opportunities, you will find all kinds of products within your chosen niche.

Research the products available and choose the ones which offer the best commission and which rank highly in the lists of products. Have a careful look at the merchant's sales website to assure yourself that it is likely to convert your referred visitor's into customers. There will also be information regarding the performance of each product in comparison to others. All these issues should be taken into consideration before you make your final choice.

At this point it will be necessary to set up a website. This will not need to be anything fancy but must have content on it specifically designed to persuade your visitors to click through to the merchant's sales page. If you feel unable to set up the site and/or provide the copy to go on your page, don't worry. There are online companies such as "Fiverr" who will do the work for you at very little cost. Your webpage will need a domain name and hosting which can be arranged for the cost of a couple of pints.

So far so good! You are all ready for your affiliate marketing start-up. Then comes the slightly tricky part; - getting people to visit your webpage. There are a number of ways to draw traffic to your webpage. Some of these are free whereas some will require some financial outlay. Don't despair! Internet Marketing is such a cost-effective business that any expenditure will be small and can be recovered quite quickly. If money is tight, you might consider submitting articles to ezines. Use your search engine to track these down. These articles will be written on a subject which relates to your product and will include in the Resource Box a link to your website.

Do lots of research to find the way to promote your webpage in the way that suits you best. As you can readily see from this short affiliate marketing guide, research is a vital key to every aspect of your affiliate marketing start-up. To be successful in any form of online business takes persistence and perseverance but it is well worth the effort in the end.

Hiring a freelancer can be an intimidating venture for anyone who owns a small business or for anyone looking to partner up on a project. If you have never done this, your first thought is to go to a site like Fiverr, O-Desk, Upwork and Freelancer.com.

However, I would be very careful about hiring from these places. If price is important to you these sites might be of some value. However, odds are you are going to hire someone that is not from the US and may not understand the nuances of your specific market.

What should you pay for a freelance designer?

It comes down to two things - experience and location. If you are hiring someone in the US and are looking for someone who is a senior level designer with years of experience expect an hourly rate to be somewhere in the range of $ 60 / hour and up. Lots of designers also work for flat fee but keep in mind, designers are like any other business they need to make a profit off of their work. We have many tools, training, and software expenses that we need to stay on top of and those things come with a price for us.

You could hire a more junior designer from somewhere in the vicinity of $ 35 / hour but be prepared to do more managing the designer and hand holding through projects.

I have seen several companies hire a "cheaper" solution for the design projects only to find:

  • They are half way around the world and are working on your project when you are sleeping. When you are awake, they are sleeping or now to be found.
  • You have to wait 24 hours to get quick changes made which can be frustrating.
  • Sometimes are language barriers and cultural differences which lead to several glaring spelling errors or poor choice of imagery.
  • You can not just call them up on the phone. There are small windows of time during the day or your evening to have a discussion.
  • The Designer did not understand something and now you have to wait another night / day before those changes can be done.
What is the key difference between a local vs international designer?

It can be valuable to have a designer locally or one that you can call up and have a screen share with to go over your changes to help you clearly communicate what you are looking for. You also can get things done quicker and last minute if they are just a quick call away and are at least in the same time zone.

Several years ago a client I was working with ran an advertising campaign in the States. It was very successful, so the client decided to run it over in Europe -

And It failed. MISERABLY ...

What they did not realize at the time was the messaging for that same ad that worked well well in the United States had an entirely different meaning in Europe. Just hiring someone to translate the text for you will not always work. What they should have done was hire a consultant that knows the overseas culture before publishing the ad.

Their mistake was simply not having the right person who understands all the nuances and cultural differences that were lacking.

You ideally want to hire someone that you can have a relationship with for any projects that come up. Someone dependent and knowledgeable in areas that are weaknesses for you. You should think of the Designer as an extension of your team and someone that can help you craft your brand alongside you.

This is the number one reason why copywriters and marketers team up with Art Directors and Designers. Working together as a team helps make whatever project they are working on stronger because they compliment each other's skill set.

If you are a business owner or just looking for someone to help round out your areas of weaknesses (for me it's copywriting and development - and why I often team up with Copywriters and Developers)

Here are some helpful guidelines to help you hire the Best Freelance Designer for your project (s):

  1. Ask other business owners / friends / family if they have any resources for people that have worked for them. This is great because you already know the work process from your reference - no one would recommend someone they were not happy with and will give you some insight on the freelancers pricing. Social media is also a great place to reach out to associates / friends for their input and recommendations.

  2. Use a tool like LinkedIn and LinkedIn Profinder to find freelancers. Profinder is a great way to start conversations with Freelancers.Once you submit what you are looking for you'll get up to 5 contacts from designers looking to help you out on your project. You also may get direct contacts from designers on LinkedIn that you should check out.You can always delete your connection with that person if it does not work out. It's just a tool to opening a door to meet great local designers who you can even meet in person to see if you are a good personality fit. And yes, personality fit is important. If they are to be an extension of your team (even if it's only you in your business) make sure you like not only their style of design but also feel comfortable with them as a person too.Other great resources are Coroflot, Behance, and Dribble.

  3. If you find someone online, look at their portfolio (if it's visual or read their sample copy). As the designer a lot of questions. Point out specifics and ask what their role in the project was. Ask if the design was mostly their idea or if they had a lot of input from the client or team that they are working on. Ask if they research the images or were they given to them. If it's a drawing, ask if they used other art to put it together or if it was original. It's always great to ask more questions to get insight into the designers brain and process. The other key is if you do not like what you see or read in their portfolio, do not expect a different exit for your project. Stop right there do not proceed with this freelancer!

  4. Talk to them on Skype or in Person . Getting a visual on someone is important to see if you have a connection with them. The better they understand you, the better chance your project will be a great success.

  5. Get references from the designer and CHECK THEM ... Yes, it's a pain in the tush, but it's important. Find out what other say about their work experience. You'll be happy you did.

  6. Start out with a small project first to see if it's a good fit for what you are looking for. Consider this a trial run - however, expect to pay for this - Freelancers do not work for free (well at least the good ones do not).

  7. Do not lowball the designer. Expect to pay at least $ 35 / hour for a junior designer and at least $ 60 / hr and above for senior level. Remember, you really do get what you pay for. Consider working on a flat fee but expect to pay more for anything that is out of the original scope of the project. Designers do not like to feel like they are being taken advantage of and can hurt any future relationship you might have with them.
These tips can really save you time and headache when hiring a freelance design consultant. Happy Hiring!

In this article, you will learn how to use the Kindle platform in selling your books. Kindle is one of the hottest publishing platforms for all types of books. If you want to publish your own books using this great platform, read on.

Prepare the File

This is the first part of publishing your work. Here, you need to make sure that you have the right file format. Amazon supports a wide range of formats, but these are the best ones:

· Mobi - This format supports indexing, compression, navigation controls, and other complex features.

· HTML - This format references on HTML (ie hypertext markup language).

· DOC / DOCX - This is the standard format for MS Word.

· EPub - This format is compatible with almost all types of e-book readers.

Important Note: Amazon supports illustration-dependent materials such as children's books. To learn more about the tools you'll need for this format, visit the Amazon KDP help page.

Uploading

You may upload your file as is using the "Upload" button on your Kindle Dashboard webpage. However, this is not your best option if your book has a complex structure. If you need some help in formatting your work, you may take advantage of the conversion services offered by professionals.

Some of the best service providers are:

Lapiz

Formax

Amnet

Newgen

CreateSpace

Publish the Book

Now that your file is ready, it is time to provide the details of your book. Enter the book's title, the name of the author, the categories, the keywords, and other pieces of information that the Amazon system may require.

Cover Creator

Use the tool called "Cover Creator" to create a cover for your book. This option is great if you know a thing or two about designing. If you already have a cover image, just upload it to the system.

Important Note: Do not worry if you lack designing skills. There are many people out there who can create book covers for you. For instance, you can visit http://www.upwork.com and / or http://www.fiverr.com to get affordable cover designs.

The Price

Set the price of your book and choose a royalty percent. The percentage you'll select will affect how much money you'll get from each sale. The 70% royalty option offers higher income per transaction, but you will have to pay a "distribution fee". Also, this royalty option is not available to everyone. The 30% option (ie the default one), on the other hand, prerequisites additional fees.

Your dashboard will show you detailed information regarding the performance of your e-book. Use those reports to monitor the book's performance and count the royalties you have earned.

Promote your Book

Amazon.com will market your book as soon as you publish it. Your book will appear on the computer screen of potential customers. However, you can not rely on this "automated marketing" alone. You also need to do certain things.

For instance, you need to upload trailers for your book. You can create one or more videos to introduce your new book then upload the videos to the Author Pages section of your Amazon account.

You also need to ask your readers to give reviews. Positive reviews attract more readers. Lastly, choose an attractive cover for your book. The cover serves as a powerful marketing tool. It can attract or repel potential readers, so make sure to choose the most relevant one.

Amazon FBA, and generally selling products on the Amazon platform, has quickly become a goldmine for a number of vendors - who both got in early and managed to cultivate an audience who wanted what they were offering.

To do this properly, you have to be able to consider exactly what you're doing regarding the sale of products, and how they're showcased.

Apart from appealing photos, the description is the main way people are able to gain an insight into what the product does, how it works - and how it's different to other competing ones.

This tutorial aims to highlight how you're able to manage the most effective Amazon product listing descriptions...

Structure

Amazon product listings adhere to the same structure:

  • Title

  • Images

  • Features (Bullet Points)

  • Description (incl HTML)

What most people see in the Amazon listing is the top part (Title, Images & Bullet Points) - the "meat" of the listing is the description, which can include basic HTML formatting.

If you want to create an effective listing, the trick is to be clear, concise and thorough.

The best generally have clear, high definition images, coupled with informative & compelling bullet points (which are focused on benefits) and a keyword-rich title.

The real killer the "copy" used throughout the listing. Both in the bullet-points and the full description, being able to convey the benefits of the product whilst ensuring the reader is compelled to buying your particular product is a fine line.

Due to the nature of this copy, a number of copywriting experts have been making serious money providing "Amazon Product Listing" copywriting services. The premise is they will help people make more money by writing more lucid copy.

How To Do It Yourself

As mentioned, the above structure is pretty-much what determines whether a product will be accepted by Amazon.

The most important thing to do is understand what "triggers" buyers to trust your product.

When selling products, it's far better to deal with emotion than logic...

  • Logically, you may think the product can be listed and people will pick it, evaluate it based on its features and make a purchase.

  • Emotionally, people choose products by the company they feel will deliver an experience as close to their aspirations as possible.

Such examples as creating a "compelling" title (which just has to list the various features of the product from the perspective of how it can be used) and a "description" which showcases how the product can fit into the buyer's life will convert much higher than simply listing the features of the product. Remember, the majority of people are buying the product for an ulterior reason... highlighting how it will push them to this underlying result will make the difference between buying the product or not.

To this end, the following explains how each of the elements of the description work:

Title

The most important thing to ensure with a product's title is that it's as descriptive as possible.

Obviously - some products (such as books) don't need overly descriptive titles. However, the majority of categories do require the most descriptive title possible.

Consider the following examples:

  • AYL Silicon Cooking Gloves - Heat Resistant Oven Mitt For Grilling, BBQ, Kitchen - Safe Handling of Pots and Pans - Cooking & Baking Non-Slip Potholders - Internal Protective Cotton Layer

  • AYL Silicon Cooking Gloves (Green) - Heat Resistant Oven Mitt + Internal Cotton Layer

It's proven that the top title converts higher.

The reason for this is actually very simple - people trust the more descriptive nature of it.

In a wash of 100's of similar products, people want quality, value and assurity that the company behind the product is actually going to be legitimate. Having a descriptive, inclusive title as the top one is one of the best ways to do it.

Images

Images are necessary for getting products noticed.

The keys with images are as follows:

  • Clarity is *everything* - don't worry about any background or whatever - people want to see the quality of the product and expect 4k+ imagery to show it

  • Only show what's required - software products don't "need" a box but they'll obviously add to the perception of its quality -- people primarily need to see screenshots

  • Make sure the images represent *exactly* what the buyer is getting - don't use any tricks/hacks to make the product look better than what it is - just show people the product & accessories which may come with it

If you're not very good with photographs, you'll need to talk to a photographer.

Alternatively, there are companies on the likes of Fiverr who'll be able to set up a good shot as well.

The point is that as long as you have ~5 really good images, this should be okay.

Features (Bullet Points)

This is where things start to get important.

The features (bullet points) are meant to describe the specifications of the product; they're now mostly used to provide users with information about the product (copy).

Regardless of what you write there, there are several factors to consider:

  • Wrap features inside benefits - Rather than saying "15cm long", say "3 HANDY SIZES - 5cm, 10cm & 15cm"

  • Include ALL 5 bullets - might be tempting to only use 3 - use all of the 5 and talk about the company & "guarantee" for the last one

  • Lead with "CAPITALIZED" benefits - buyers want to know what the product is going to for them, and then why - you do this with "CAPITALIZED TITLES - followed by an explanation of each point"

  • Don't be afraid to use several sentences for each bullet - some products just need the features listed; if you need extra edge, add copy

  • Focus on the product (not the buyer) - beginners make the mistake of leading with buyer-centric benefits (because they read it in some copywriting forum) - this is bad. People are on Amazon to buy products, not learn about how an oven glove will make them look younger etc.

As mentioned, if you're looking at developing an effective system, you need to be able to encourage buyers that your company - and by virtue - your products are trustworthy and high quality.

The way you do that is to make as much use of the available content area as possible.

Description

Finally, the description is the bulk of content below all the specifications laid out "above the fold".

Depending on the type of product, and whether you have a new brand or established company, the "description" area can be a number of different things.

It's best to consider it similar to a product listing page on eBay - showcasing exactly what's for sale. Minus images, a similar state of affairs exists (you can use limited amounts of HTML in it).

The most important thing to realize is that you're not restricted to just bullet-points (as you are with the product features) - this not only gives a little more creative freedom. Obviously, this means that you need to ensure you're making the right choices...

  • Lead with the SINGLE reason why people would buy YOUR product over a competitor's - marketing / sales 101 but it's so easy to forget it. There's always a SINGLE reason why people buy a particular product (it can be the quality, design or how it works)

  • Lead with a headline, use a small bit of blurb to describe the product and then use several bullet points to describe what the buyer is going to get - you only get ~300 words so don't go overboard

  • Pick an emotive angle - The best product are sold through emotion - use copy that evokes ideas of how the product will fit into someone's life

  • Use HTML sparingly - bold text is nice, but not the defining factor of your product - don't go overboard with the stylization (it should compliment the copy, not define it)

Recommended Resources

If you're brand new to the Amazon game, you need to be remember that nothing will replace having an effective product.

How you display said product is also extremely important, as are reviews.

To get a better insight, there are several really good resources:

  • levinewman on Fiverr (also search for "Embrava" on Amazon for examples of his work)

  • splitly - "The Utiltimate Amazon Product Description Template" (VERY good information)

The point is that if you're looking to list either new or existing products - it pays to ensure that you're using the most effective techniques to instill trust, desire and confidence in your buyers.

Fed Up, Bored, Or Stuck In A Rut?

Are you fed up, tired, or bored with your current job or career? Do you hate having to get up every morning to go to a job or career that you really do not like? You know there must be something better out there but can not seem to take the action necessary to make any changes. Instead, it's easy to keep the same old boring routine and just get used to it, as the months and years roll on by.

Did you know that we only have so much time in our working care and should not waste them being miserable each day with our job or career? Is not life far too short to be unfulfilled year after year?

Hopefully, you're not stuck in a rut and can not get out of it. If so, there is definitely hope for you as you learn and follow a few steps. For any changes to take place it's essential to take action every day in every way that you can. One thing that holds many back is that they do not want to be out of their comfort zones but probably need to be if there's a career change taking place.

Here are 8 steps for you about starting that new career or job and breaking out of that rut:

1. Attitude is very important. Mental preparation to change is needed to be committed to starting that new and best situation for you. See yourself as a valuable asset to anyone or company and worthy of consideration for whatever you're looking after.

Also, understand that changing careers will take some time. There is probably a learning curve that can take a few weeks or 6 months, or longer. Mentally preparing and starting out with a goal in focus, a plan, and a take action attitude are critical for success.

Feel confident and good about yourself and do things like helping others, sometimes volunteer, that make you feel good. Upgrading your "style" in dress, vehicle, or another way can make someone feel good about themselves. Now that you're looking and feeling good you're ready for:

2. Re-evaluate your strengths, weaknesses, and limitations. There are also many free Career Aptitude Tests online that anyone can take to help them decide on their best career choice. Take your time here and sleep on it. Then you're ready for the next step:

3. Education - If you're drastically changing careers then there would be a need to learn new things, take a class, get certified, or licensed. This will take some time but be well worth it. This training will look great on your resume as you move into your new career job. If you're using a resume, remake and update it or better yet have it professionally written up for you.

The resume is a tool to represent the person and open up doors of opportunity for them. Make sure that it draws a nice picture of your work history and qualifications. Most people will stretch the truth, or exaggerate a bit so that their resume will make them look as favorably and qualified as possible. A word of caution, do not lie as it's wrong and you certainly would not want to be done in a lie.

4. Start Networking online on social media like LinkedIn and Facebook. Update your profiles to reflect your purpose and attract what it is that you're looking for. Ask family and friends that you know and respect their suggestions or advice, however always consider the advice and make your own decisions after sleeping on them.

5. Personal Grooming - Next step is to get yourself ready for action, consider how you look and dress, are there some positive changes that can be made to help the cause, like a haircut, hairdo, shave, grow a beard, etc. How about clothing, can your wardrobe be updated to improve your image? Throw out or give away some old clothing and replace with some new shoes, pants, dresses or shirts and whatever else will give a polished and professional look.

6. Confidence, persistence, and patience need to be exercised daily as you enter and find your way into the new career choice. Always have a positive vibration and an attitude of expecting something good to occasion, which puts the law of attraction into action. Remember that you are a valuable commodity and a great benefit to everyone that does business with or hires you. Act as if and walk the walk of the new and improved you with a new purpose in mind, forgetting any past failures and reach forward to the things which are ahead as you build a new career and attract success through your persistence, patience, and daily efforts.

7. Always have a list of things to do and keep an eye on that list, crossing off things as they are accomplished. This is very important and will get you into the habit of completing tasks and moving forward towards whatever goal (s) that you've set up for yourself.

8. Always have a goal written down and in mind, and be constantly and methodically moving toward it. Take a look at exactly where you are and exactly what the goal is and constantly move toward that goal persistently and do not stop until your goals are met.

It's normal to alter the plan a little as you go but keep focused on the desired end result and the day's tasks to meet that goal. You can meet every goal one by one and build up a very successful career for yourself.

There is no denying the fact that the future of marketing is digital. While many business owners know of digital marketing, many of them don't know how to go about it. The few that execute it, do it the wrong way. To help you out, here are marketing tips that will help you succeed:

Make use of social media

Almost everyone is using social media platforms: Facebook, Linkedln, Twitter, StumbleUpon, and Google+. By properly making use the platforms you will not only save much of your marketing budget, you will also have the ability of reaching millions of your target customers.

To be successful on social media you need to be regular and consistent. There is no way you will build a voice if you post once a week or a month.

While it's recommended that you post regularly, you shouldn't over do it. Social media experts recommend that you should post 5 times a day on Twitter, 5-10 times a week on Facebook, and once a day on Google+ and Linkedln.

When posting, remember that it's not about you-it's about your customers and followers. Many businesses make the mistake of posting only promotional products. This will not only head you to nowhere, it will also result to loss of followers (potential customers).

The best way of going about it is mixing valuable information (that adds value to your followers) and a little bit of promotional information. Remember: to keep your followers you need to provide value.

Create high quality content

Mediocre content has no place in digital marketing. In addition to being valuable, the content also needs to be unique. This calls for you to provide information that your competitors are providing.

The current trends have been the use of videos, animations and inforgraphics. Ensure that they are of high quality and different. If you can't produce them yourself, hire a professional to help you out.

You can hire an agency to help you out, but if you are strapped for cash, use freelance sites such as Elance, Fiverr and freelancer. These sites have plenty of talented professionals that will give you great content at affordable prices.

Conclusion

As mentioned, digital marketing is the future and you need to start learning the ropes now. Heed the above tips and you will definitely be a marketing success. If you are busy and don't have time to undertake marketing yourself, hire a professional to help you out.

Gig sites, such as GigDollars.com, have been a recent online phenomenon. What is a gig site? They are online marketplace portals for freelancers to post individual services which they are willing to perform for a set amount of money. Gig sites facilitate those that are seeking outsourced help to find qualified people.

If a person is willing to do a certain job, write an article or do graphic design work, as examples, they can post those services and define a set amount of money for realizing them. Those seeking such services can glance through those gig posts offering such services and review the feedback left by others that have used their services. It is a win-win for both the buyer and the seller. The buyer gets the security of community reviews and the seller gets a great marketplace for exposure of his or her services.

GigDollars.com has improved the concept of gig sites by offering added benefit to both the sellers and buyers on its website. Other gig sites typically limit freelancers on the amount that they can charge for a given task. GigDollars.com, on the other hand, allows the freelancer to post gigs and sell those services for a price ranging from $ 5 to as high as $ 100. This makes GigDollars.com a far better place for freelancers, allowing them the opportunity to post services which would not otherwise post due to the pricing limits imposed by the other popular online gig sites.

Another wonderful feature of GigDollars.com is its payment system. Once a freelancer has received an order from a buyer, the entire financial side of the transaction is handled via the GigDollars platform with the seller receiving the funds in their GigDollars account after having delivered the completed task to the buyer. Since the buyer pays for the service before the seller even starts work on the task, the seller has the peace of mind of knowing that the buyer has already sent payment via GigDollars before starting on the work.

Once the seller has delivered the work and the buyer has reviewed and accepted the task, GigDollars releases the funds to the seller's GigDollars account, minus a modest commission. The seller may request to have funds transferred to their PayPal account at anytime once the balance on their GigDollars account has reached $ 4. This is the lowest payment threshold of any other gig site, making this another reason why GigDollars.com is fast becoming popular with freelancers.

Whereas, on other gig sites sellers were limited to small tasks, often planned by multiple sellers offering similar, if not identical, services; freelancers will feel liberated on GigDollars.com. The opportunity to post more specialized and larger services due to their free ranging $ 5 to $ 100 pricing policy will allow a greater number of freelancers to stand out. If you have posted your services on other gig sites in the past, or if you are a freelancer interested in other events to promote your micro tasking services, GigDollars.com is definitely a gig site to consider.

There are many others with varied terms of service, some cheap, other not so cheap, but only 3 are cited here to avoid information overload. If you want more, you can Google for them.

3.3 Revision

One thing is very common with Internet Business: it is constantly undergoing CHANGES. Old things are passing away or revised while some are completely replaced with new ones. The after the initial setting up of your business, your main job will be staying alert, so you can make simple changes on your site or product to keep them up to date.

The best way to be up to date in your niche market is to sign up with Google Alert so they will keep you posted on the latest development in the market that may affect your product positively or negatively. For this purpose, you are also advised to sign up in to your cherished Gurus' lists as they are popular and well established in the business.

They are always the ones to get advanced information on any important changes that is coming up their relative niche markets. You can get the latest software, etc. for pennies from them before it hit the open market.

3.4 New Products

Regular eavesdropping into your market also have another advantage. You gather enough intelligence to create new or even complementary products. This can mean going over your entire line of products from the beginning to the end.

This is what those Gurus call UPGRADES, which are actually the new and improved version of the same old stuff!

Hope you are not confused by the last statement - remember - EVERYTHING IS A REMIX ...

By now you are already supposedly to be an expert: mean, you know exactly where to give your old stuff a little jerk, a little shake up and a little shake down to give them the Silver Lining or the Golden Glittering Look, or whatever your desire.

And what next ...

And the beat goes on ... traffic, traffic, traffic ...

3.5 Recreating Your Own World

We will soon come to the end of this lesson.

If there is any one thing I will like to emphasize here, it is the fact that PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.

Do not wait till you are perfect before you attempt to put these ecourse to practical use.

Start immediately, if you have not done so already. Do your market research, choose your niche market, sell an affiliate product to start with, and later create your own product for sell to your list members as you gather confidence and insight, create your marketing funnel, set up your salespage and so on and so forth ...

Start making money right away.

You can learn from your mistakes, that is still okay, that is what makes you a GURU because at some points, you will not be making mistakes that others are still making, that is even what will result in upgrades of your products and most of all: that is how every guru you ever met learned the ART.

But that is not all the story ...

At the end of it all, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Surprised that with such a little effort you have succeeded in getting rid of your own Boss, and you will not have need of any of them again for life.

Surprised that you have even become your own BOSS and you are now bossing others (if that is what you like), at least at the Virtual Workers.

Surprised that you have exited the Rat Race, Corporate Ladder and Corporate Politics

Surprised that you are now in control of your income, time and destiny, and most of all,

Surprised that you have recreated your own world ...

4.0 CONCLUSION

Can anything be more exiting to you than RECREATING YOUR OWN WORLD, where everything runs exactly the way you want.

Let this possibility run in your imagination NONSTOP.

Remember the words of one of the greatest genius the world ever had - Napoleon Hill:

'Whatever the mind can conceive, and believe, it (the hands) will achieve it'.

5.0 SUMMARY

After setting up your online business, aim at automating it as soon as possible.

Using the correct methods to automate your business is what makes online business a bliss. This is what the Gurus are talking about when they say 'business at the speed of thought', 'make money from the thin air' or making 5 to 6 figure at the snap of your finger.

See you @ the top!

If you have a skill or passion that's not being used to its full potential, it may be time to consider using this to supplement your salary with a side gig.

What is a Side Gig?

A side-gig or side-hustle is something you do in addition to your regular job. It's a way of creating another stream of income, eventually taking this full time (if you wish to).

It's not a fancy way of labelling a 2nd job, side gigging is totally different. Back in the days people were moonlighting to make ends meet, side gigging is creating something for yourself and growing this into a business with an end goal of more income and more time. It's taking something like a hobby or interest and finding a way of making an income from it. With e-commerce sites today such as Etsy, eBay, and Fiverr it can be really simple to start up with very little capital (my start up costs were £0!)

How to find your gig?

What are you good at? What do you enjoy? This could be something that you may have never thought of before but it can be something simple. If you are fluent in another language, you can teach it, my partner has a side gig as an interpreter. If you love making or customising your own clothes, sell them online - there could be a market out there for you. It can start from just helping somebody out, such as walking a friend's dog. There are lots of start up companies right now where you get paid to pet sit or house sit.

There was just an article I read today, a 15 year old pupil has built a £50,000 tuck shop business! It started with him selling sweets and drinks to his fellow pupils from the boy's toilet in his school, and now has expanded to other schools in his area. You can even start with something linked to what you currently do. If you're a PA and good with correcting grammar and writing, there are people out there who will pay for your skills. I know someone who makes a good extra income by editing blogs and online posts in English for Chinese writers.

"Look around and you'll see side-hustlers everywhere turning their knowledge and abilities into profitable businesses."

Alexis Grant - writer

Do the research

Look into what similar gigs are offering and which platform you then want to start using to get your gig out there. Etsy is good for Arts and Crafts and personalised items. Fiverr and Elance if you're offering a service. Speak to people, whether that be people you know who are doing it or people online. There are plenty of places to look, a simple Google search will list the information you need. You just need a willingness to do it. When I started out, I wasn't certain what I wanted to do, just that I wanted to start doing something that I enjoyed and had the potential to go full time. I experimented with a few things and that's what has got me to where I am now.

It's not a job

There are no set times like a 9-5, therefore you have to be disciplined. You have to set time aside to work on your side gig if you want to make it successful. However if you enjoy what you're doing, it should be something you look forward to spending time on. I don't see my side gig as work, I enjoy the time I spend on it. I see it as a creative outflow of energy.

The side gig is becoming ever more popular and appealing. Millennials in particular are embracing more flexible ways of working. It's a natural evolution of the workforce in a changing economy, and with the power of social media, you can take your business global. The technology is now available with apps such as Evernote (your faithful organisation tool) makes it so much easier today to do business. Unlike a job, you work at your own pace, there are many others working a similar side gig to myself and are now earning a full time income and more with it. They have chosen to put in the time to get them to where they are, I am working at a pace that fits in with my lifestyle. The beauty is you choose.

Enjoy it!

Some like a balance between their side gig and their day job and enjoy the variety. Others intend to go full time with their gig. The point is choice and flexibility. We no longer live in a time where you work for one company all your life, and in return you are offered job security and a guarantee the company will look after you when you retire. The government have already stated there is not enough in the pension pot for the huge number of baby boomers about to hit retirement age. Would you rather just wait and see what happens, hoping things will be OK or would you rather know you will be OK. Side gigging is the step in the right direction. It helps you become in control of your finances and your time. Have a gig, start hustling!

It was one of the hottest days of the year in the UK yesterday. As a sunny day is a rare occasion here, I took my son on his first trip to the beach. The beach is 70 miles away from where I live, so it usually takes about an hour and a half. The trip took 3 hours.

There is one long main road that connects everyone to this particular beach, and everyone had the same idea. We were crawling along and, at one point started timing our miles (yes, we were bored!). 2 miles in 32 minutes!

Anyway, we got there and it was confirmed, the whole of the UK had decided to go to the beach. We had a great time, but I do sometimes get a bit impatient with large crowds, so felt unable to fully immerse myself in the experience. I needed fish and chips, it was the only way to get past it!

Why am I telling you this? Because I made a discovery! Although the fish and chips we had were nowhere near as good as the ones back home, the fish shop was making a killing! It was all about location. They had placed their store in a high traffic location and were profiting big-time!

As you may have guessed, this is another post about making money and financial freedom. More specifically, it's about how to market your product. It really didn't matter to me that the fish wasn't all that great, it was convenient, and it was there when I needed it.

The key to selling products and making money is putting it in front of people at the right time; putting it in a high-traffic location, to be found when people need it. How can you do that? Think about your users. Where do they usually shop, where do they hang out online and what do they want? Do they want to make money? Do they want to learn a skill? If so, go out and find your crowd and tell them where you are.

I use Facebook a lot to generate traffic to my sites. I pay someone on fiverr.com to post an update on their fan pages telling people what's going on in my world. This then shows to all the people that have liked the fan page. It's completely OK with Facebook as nobody gets spammed, and traffic comes my way. I always make sure that the fan pages are related to my product or site in some way, so I know the people that have liked it are my sort of people. It's a really good technique that you can try if you're stuck on how to market your product to the right people.

If you don't yet have products, you can try this method by promoting someone else's. If you head over to ClickBank, you can sign up to promote other people's products, and you get a cut of any sales made. Then you can drive traffic to the product and wait for money to come in.

It can literally be that easy to make money online. So, how to market your product online? You just need a way to get paid, and traffic. Head to fiverr.com to buy the facebook posts.

And if you're fish and chips taste good too, well that's just a bonus and a way to get repeat customers!

Are you doing offline marketing, or would you like a second income in the offline world?

Here's how to make it drop dead simple and super profitable:

First, build a simple website with a menu card on it. Not the kind of menu you find in a restaurant, of course, but it can look like that if you choose.

Your menu is going to offer all kinds of services to brick and mortar businesses.

For example:

· Local SEO

· Creating lead capture pages and setting up their autoresponder

· Website creation

· Writing blog posts and articles for them

· Repairing their online reputation

· Creating a professional looking video

· Creating detailed reports on their competitors

· Doing social media (this can be a wide variety of offerings)

· And so forth

Give them different prices - some low and some higher, to give business owners plenty of choices.

Now here's the 21 day trick -through testing, we've found that you will actually sell MORE services when you extend the date by which you'll have the services completed.

Naturally you can do many of these things in 2-5 days.

But if the client believes you're working on it for 3 weeks, or even a whole month, the perceived value is much higher and you will sell more.

Yes, human nature is a funny thing, isn't it?

Now then, before you panic and think you can't provide all these services, realize that all you need is to visit Fiverr.com.

There you'll find people who can do all of these things for you, for cheap. You will need to pay more than $5 for most of these, but that's okay because your profit margins will still remain sky high.

Typically, you'll pay $5 to test the gig out, and then somewhere between $50 and perhaps as high as $200 to get your job done.

Meanwhile, you're selling services for $300 to $1000, depending how much work it involves.

You are the 'middle man or woman' getting the orders and then having them fulfilled.

So how do you get the clients?

All of the usual methods can apply, of course. Also, LinkedIn and Craigslist can be great places to get clients with a little practice.

Also look at potential client's social profiles and websites to get an idea of what they might need, and then contact them directly via email or even phone.

And if you're ready to take it to the next level, you can also put together a mailer that incorporates your menu and send it to likely prospects.

This is perhaps one of the easiest businesses you can start and almost immediately begin making money. Because you are outsourcing all of the work, you can focus solely on getting clients, making them happy and gaining repeat sales.

And by the way - once you choose a method for client acquisition, you can outsource that as well.

Then your only job will be to send orders to your outsourcers and send the completed work to your clients.

Not a lot of work for a $5,000 or more a month income.

If you are looking to work online jobs without investment from home, it can be a very rewarding experience. You can wake up when you like, not have a set schedule, and look after your kids if necessary. However, it can be a daunting venture if you are not experienced. To find online jobs without investment from home is tough. Because this is a highly sought after line of work by folks all over the world, there are countless online scammers that are ready to take your money. They promise really large paychecks for minimal work, and they require an upfront fee to get you started. There is nothing legit about these businesses. Their business goal is to take your money, plain and simple.

There are however, certain online jobs without investment from home. The first is affiliate marketing. It works like this. You advertise and market products for a business, and if you sell something, you earn a commission. Plain and simple. There are lots of free ways to market online without having to pay any money. You can write articles with your affiliate link and submit them to article directories. If people are interested, they will click on your link and buy the product, earning you a commission. You can create a free blog and write product reviews. You could even turn the table. If you know a great deal about something that people are interested in, you could write what's called an eBook. Then you could have affiliates sell it on your behalf for a cut of the profit.

There can be some investment involved with online work, but not what the scammers tell you. Working online, you are your own employer, freelance if you will. If you want to build a legitimate website, you will have to pay for the domain name and web hosting. This is a small fee, perhaps ten to fifteen dollars a month, but it is still an investment. However you have to look at it this way. It does not go in the scammers pocket, it is truly an investment in your own work.

If affiliate marketing is not your cup of tea, there are still other online jobs without investment from home. One rapidly growing way of earning money online is called micro jobs. There are websites for example Fiverr.com, that allow you to post 'micro jobs'. You might only make a few bucks per job, but if you can do something that people are interested in, you will make sales and get paid. Websites such as this usually pay you via PayPal, so it would be a good idea to sign up for a free account if you have not already.

There is indeed money to be made working online. Do a lot of research, but once you have found something you would like to try, then try it! Do not get caught up researching everything under the sun or you will never get any work done. Now, go do some online work and live the dream!
