All companies have complaints, but this one seems to have a little more for comfort. Max International is certainly not a scam, but it's possible that their products certainly aren't the best.

Network Marketing companies centered around health have a huge competitive playing field and they don't seem to be doing the best job keeping up.   3. Cleanser - An anti-aging cleanser for your skin for $50.00. Of course, it contains hemp oil and is designed to reverse the aging process, clean your skin, provide skin hydration, and remove dead skin cells without drying the skin.

The Opportunity:

The question still remains; can you really make money with Kannaway's business or income opportunity? In order to answer this question we will look into their compensation plan! There are quite a few payouts that Kannaway offers but I am only going to explain a few briefly.



  1. Direct Sales Commission - This is one of the most common payouts in the multi-level marketing industry. This one in specific occurs weekly. As an example of how this works, if a product sells for $90.00, as a member you are able to purchase the same product for $70.00. Therefore, when you make the sell you simply keep the remainder of $20.00 as profit.


  2. Direct Sales Bonus - When you enroll someone into your "downline", they too will need to purchase products to re-sell in order to grow their own business. When they do that, you are able to earn 30% of their personal purchases for their first 30 days.


  3. Rank Achievement Bonus - They have all types of ranks that members can achieve and when they achieve this rank they become eligible to earn a certain bonus and an even higher one if they do it within a certain period of time. Final Thoughts:

The products offered by Kannaway are unique and interesting to say the least. I know from several years of research that hemp products are very high-quality. However, the prices are absolutely outrageous! Something else I know is that hemp is much cheaper than other ingredients and that is why there is such a push to lift the ban from hemp. Cannabis or Marijuana is a different story. However, as mentioned before, you cannot get the mind altering effects from hemp! Therefore, the ban is pointless. Hemp is cheaper and higher-quality so their prices' being as high as they are is extremely ridiculous!

The opportunity is also quite unappealing. Although they do offer quite a decent number of payouts these payouts are not very lucrative. However, that's not the most disappointing feature of their compensation plan. They have several requirements you must consistently achieve such as sale quotas. If you do not sell a certain amount of products each month, you will not be paid any bonuses.

The cost is also insane. Most companies in the industry of multi-level marketing have a one-time start-up fee. Most individuals join companies like this because they enjoy their products and would also like to create a residual income for themselves. However, in this company you would be paying a residual bill (using the term loosely). The cost is not appealing in the slightest. I would rather pay 3 thousand dollars one-time that last for a lifetime then $49.99 every year that I'm involved with the business.

After you have downloaded the WordPress software and installed it on your own domain and hosting account you need to do a few tweaks before you start madly blogging and installing your favorite WordPress theme and plugins.

Server Side: it's a good idea to go to your server and locate the WordPress instruction and installation file that is automatically uploaded with the WordPress software. You need to rename this file to something random and hard to guess. This is a preventative measure to deter hackers from easily finding that your site runs WordPress and trying to exploit any vulnerabilities in the software.

Plugins: While you are at your server now is the time to open up your wp-content/plugins folder and add a blank index.html file to it. This is as simple as opening notepad on your pc and saving the file as index.html. You then need to upload that file to your wp-content/plugins folder. This ensures that any plugins you may upload in the future are not on display to the world. Again, this is a preventative measure.

Pictures: by default any images that you upload to WordPress will be filed in a file called Uploads. Make it harder for people to find your images by changing the name of the file where you want your pretty pictures to be stored. Create a file on your server for your images and add the path to that file to the area indicated in Settings/Media. While you are there you will probably want to uncheck the box that calls for these to be organized in month and date order as that can be tiresome.

Time: When you are in the Settings/General now is the time to check the time and date shown. Although this seems a trivial thing it needs to be accurate because it may affect how some plugins that rely on cron jobs to work properly.

Profile: Once you log in to your WordPress dashboard you should update your profile. Include in the "About Me" box any relevant keywords relating to your site as well as useful information for a visitor. Often search engines discover these pages and it's a good idea if yours is search engine friendly. While you are there you may also want to change your password or at least test the password strength using the inbuilt features.

Links: By default WordPress displays links in the Blogroll to related WordPress sites. Surprisingly, a lot of people do not remove these. Go to Settings/Permalinks and set your custom permalink. If you have a small site (less than 5 pages) you might only want to set a permalink that just shows the post name. To do this you would just type this /%postname%/ in the custom permalink field. If you have a larger blog you would probably want to choose to organize your information by way of categories and post articles to the appropriate category. If you are a fan of search engine optimization you most likely would want to have your keywords as category names. If you are choosing this custom permalink structure you would just type this /%category%/%postname%/ in the custom field. Remember, to save your changes when you have finished.

Pinging: When you write a post your post is automatically pinged to the search engines by WordPress using the ping services shown in Settings/Writing. You might want to add your own ping list here of services that should be notified when you make a post. Once you have pasted in the urls click to save the changes.

Domain Address: When you install WordPress you may not have noticed what your blog address is. Go to Settings/General now and have a look. You will see that your blog URL is noted here. Take careful note you can install a blog so that is known as {[http://yourblog]} and {[http://www.yourblog]}. Decide whether you want your address to include the "www" prefix or not and make the appropriate alteration here and save your changes. If you do not check this you could find that your links are being spread amongst two different url addresses which can cost you rankings in the search engines.

So you have hunted high and low and found the perfect WordPress theme. Now you need to know how to install WordPress theme or it will just be a pretty file collecting dust on your hard drive.

Installing a WordPress theme is not as complicated as many people think it is. The thing that tends to confuse people is that there are two different methods you can use when trying to figure out how to install WordPress theme.

Manually install WordPress theme

First I will go over how to install WordPress theme manually to help you get familiar with the WordPress structure.

  1. To install a WordPress theme manually you will need to download the theme, which I am assuming you have done by now.
  2. You will also need to unzip the WordPress theme to a folder on your hard drive (try not to forget where you put it).
  3. Now you will need to fire up your FTP program and FTP to your site.
  4. At this point you will want to navigate to the themes folder by going to the 'wp-content' folder and then the 'themes' folder.
  5. Once you are in the themes folder on your web site, you will want to navigate to the theme you unzipped on your hard drive (you did not remember where you put it, did not you?).
  6. You will then need to upload the theme on your hard drive (folder and all) to the themes folder on your web site.
  7. After your FTP'd out you will want to go back to your browser and log into your WordPress blog on your site.
  8. You will then go to the 'Appearance' option on the left side menu and select the 'Themes' option.
  9. At this point you should be able to see your theme listed as an option. If not then you probably uploaded it as a folder within a folder and will need to double check it.
  10. You should now be able to preview and then activate your theme by selecting the appropriate options listed under your theme.

Automatically install WordPress theme

If you are lazy like me you will want to let WordPress do all the work for you. So now we will learn how to install WordPress theme by letting WordPress get down and dirty.

  1. To put WordPress to work you will need to first log into your blog.
  2. You will navigate to the 'Appearance' option on the left side of the menu.
  3. Next you are going to click on the 'Themes' option located under the 'Appearance' tab.
  4. Once you are under the 'Themes' section, you will see 'Manage Themes' at the top of the page. Next to the 'Manage Themes' tab you will see the 'Install Themes' tab which will probably be grayed out. You will want to click on the 'Install Themes' tab to make it the active tab.
  5. Now you have a couple options here.
    • Option one is that you do not have a theme in mind yet and want to search for one. In this case you will select the options you are looking for and click Search. Once you have the results up on screen you can scroll through until you find one that you like and want to use. At this point it is only a matter of previewing the theme to make sure it is what you are looking for and if it is, then you can click Install and let WordPress do its magic.
    • Option two assumes that you have already downloaded the theme you want to use. In this case you will want to select the Upload option that you will find available under the 'Install Themes' tab. Once you have selected the Upload option you will want to browse to the theme file you downloaded and select it. (Yes WordPress will even unzip the file for you. How's that for service!) Then it is just a matter of clicking 'Install Now' and let WordPress go to town.
