Well this is lecture 3. And We are going to learn process of Designing. As we discuss basic of designing and now we discuss process of designing. Design is something meaningful. Everything which is meaningful have logic behind their design. And every designer design their work first by thinking about his problem. So their is theory behind every design which is developed by Professor Rolf Faste. 
Their are five step of sir Rolf Faste. 

Step 1: Define A Problem

Define Your Problem which you want solve. Your half answer is in your question. Same like that you get half design by defining this problem.

Step 2: Empathize

In this step you create your empathic understanding between you and your audience. Checkout what your audience is? what their age? Is they are many or single? what's their financial and education class? by knowing all these you can create your empathy with them. This will help you to create design from heart without thinking about yourself. You will do maximum effort for that design.

Step 3: Ideate

This is most is most interesting part of design thinking. In this step you develop your idea about design. Means brain storming about idea. As you define your idea and know about your audience. Now you are ready to ideate. Ideate is derived from idea. 

Step 4: Prototype

In this step we are going to make prototype of our design. we may create create many prototype but we select one which is final shape. 

Step 5: Feedback

Now we get feedback of our design from people around us. we may get feedback from our teacher who teach us. This feedback is very important because everyone thought in different way. So this will help us to understand better.

Step 6: Improvement

Now we are going to make improvement in our design according to these feedback. This improvement is very important because it will tell us about mistake. By these feedback we can eradicate our problem in design.

What do you think what is design. what first thing that comes to your mind, think... Their are many ways to define design. let see some examples:

Design is a problem solving activity
OR
Design is a map, plan and drawing.
OR 
Design is to present ideas in visual form.

 But their is little question that artist, painter, sculptor and poets also present their ideas in visual form then what is difference between art and design. Art is something next level of design. Artist do not have boundries of user requirement but designer must fulfill user requirement. Therefore painter, artist design their idea on their own way but designer design their work according to user way and give next level to user idea. So we can say that art is some how next level of design. 

 Let see Proper Definition of design: 
Design is an arrangement of elements in such a way that it serves a function and holds a specific forms/shape.

Now you understand that design is arrangement of element. There are many field of designer like constructor designer, logo designer, poster designer etc. They all are designer of their own field. They make design according to user need and are expert of their field. Now you to decide what you want in designing. Are you want to become to poster designer or card designer or any other field? Are you decided. That good but listen to me carefully first teach yourself with the basic rule of graphic designing. Basic designing principle is very important for designing. These principle tell you how to design in correct way. How to use correct color combination. How to arrange text. how to do repetition etc. these Basic is same for all. My name Hafiz Muhammad Qasim. From today my team are going to start graphic design course. we design this course from our heart to help those people who want to learn graphic design in professional way.

Course Division:

 We divided this course into three parts.
  1. Theory
  2. Software
  3. Practice

Theory:

Don't afraid of theory word. i will not asked you for something to memorized. i just developed some basic concept about graphic. For example, how to create shape, best color combination etc. This is most important but little boring part of course. but this is essential. You must have basic knowledge first then you will proceed.

Software:

In this course, we will talk about some software. we do some live editing. the software we use are Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Indesign. This is practical part of course. In this, we create basic shape, structure to build our skill. You must do practice if you want to build skill otherwise you may waste your time.

Practice:

In this section we do some practical project and make live project. we familiar you with real market. we will tell you about freelancing site. This part will help you to sharp your skill and successful in real life. You will get job according to your dream. 

Patience and Practice:

We must have patience in order to become successful in graphic designing. First create this as a hobby not as work like job of 8 to 5, then make your skill and become famous in freelance market. After all this i just say again you must have patience to become successful. Sometime your client may asked you for three to four design, sometime may be behave badly, sometime they will answer late. In any situation just remember that you will fulfill client requirement and need according to him.
